CHF 229.00

Turn your Amiga 500 or 2000 into a 68030 machine that boots from a Compact-Flash card. The TK68030v2 adds a Motorola 68030, 64 MB or 128 MB of Fast RAM and an IDE interface for hard drives and Compact-Flash cards; it is overclockable up to 60 MHz and at 50 MHz already more than twice as fast as a stock Amiga 3000.

Description

The TK68030v2 is a 68030 accelerator board for the Amiga 500 and Amiga 2000, with a 68882 FPU, up to 128 MB of Fast RAM and an auto-boot IDE controller.

Compatibility

Amiga 500 and Amiga 2000.

Features

  • Motorola 68030 CPU accelerator board, overclockable up to 60 MHz
  • Motorola 68882 FPU
  • 64 MB or 128 MB of Fast RAM, running at up to 120 MHz
  • IDE controller with on-board auto-boot ROM

CPU

The CPU can run at 14, 15, 17, 20, 25, 28, 30, 35, 40, 50, 56 or 60 MHz; you set the frequency with the on-board jumpers. At 50 MHz the TK68030v2 is more than twice as fast as a stock Amiga 3000. Please note that the CPU frequency also depends on the clock rating of the FPU.

FPU

The FPUs offered here run at clock frequencies from 50 MHz up to 60 MHz. If you are aiming for the highest CPU frequency of 60 MHz, please make sure that your Amiga has new, high-quality capacitors: they play an important role in digital signal quality.

IDE ROM

The IDE ROM contains the driver for IDE mass storage such as hard drives and Compact-Flash cards, so no driver installation is needed. The board ships with the new open-source LIDE driver (lide.device).

Support

The official support thread is on the a1k.org forum. The forum is in German, but English speakers are very welcome. Further information is in the official project repository.
