Description
Compatibility
Amiga 500 and Amiga 2000.
Features
- Motorola 68030 based CPU accelerator board overclockable up to 40 MHz and beyond
- Optional 68882 FPU
- Including 64 MB or 128 MB of Fast-RAM running up to 120MHz
- IDE controller with on-board auto-boot ROM
CPU
Possible settings for the CPU frequencies include: 14, 15, 17, 20, 25, 28, 30, 35, 40 and 50 MHz. The frequency can be configured by the on-board jumpers. The 68030-TK2 runs at 50 MHz more than twice as fast as stock Amiga 3000, but please note, that the CPU frequency is also dependent on the FPU clock capabilities.
FPU
The fastest FPU is the MC68882FN40A which has a maximum rating of 40 MHz. Some MC68882FN40A can be overclocked to 50 MHz, but any clock frequency above 40 MHz is basically not guaranteed. However, the FPUs offered here are tested for their maximum possible frequency, so you will find various options in the “FPU” product area which corresponding price differences. The TK68030v2 can also be operated without an FPU. Moreover, if you are aiming for the highest possible CPU frequency, please make sure that your Amiga is equipped with new high-quality capacitors, which plays an important role in digital signal quality.
IDE ROM
The IDE ROM contains the driver to access IDE mass storage solutions like hard drives and Compact-Flash cards, no driver installation needed. We recommend to use the new open source LIDE driver (lide.device) which gives you some improvements over the original BSC-AT-Bus / Oktapussy driver (scsi.device).
